Background, Vision, Mission & Aims of GESN-Zambia

The Governance, Electoral Support Network Zambia (GESN-Zambia) as a non-governmental, non-state actor Coalition/Network of NGOs/CSO and Citizens/Experts that focuses on promoting good governance, electoral integrity, and democratic principles in Zambia.

GESN-Zambia evolved from what was known as the Domestic Election Monitoring and Observation Group (DEMOG), which was a coalition of civil society organizations in Zambia and established through a charter to promote free, fair, and credible elections.

Advocating for reforms to improve the electoral process, including delimitation, voter registration, voting systems, and electoral dispute resolution

CIVIC AND VOTER EDUCATION

Educating citizens on their rights and responsibilities in the electoral process

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

Conducting research and analysis on governance and electoral issues to inform advocacy and policy decisions

GOVERNANCE

Promoting good governance practices, including transparency, accountability, and citizen participation

ELECTION OBSERVATION AND MONITORING

Observing and monitoring the electoral processes and elections to ensure integrity and transparency

Galvanizing, documenting and disseminating relevant information through various medium.

Building the capacity and leadership development of civil society organizations, citizens, and institutions to engage in governance and electoral issues
