Women for Change (WfC)

ORGANISATION BACKGROUND


Women for Change (WfC) is a Zambian gender focused Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that works with rural communities inclusive of children and people with disabilities. WfC builds capacities of rural communities, especially women and girls, to contribute to sustainable development and eradication of all forms of poverty.


It also advocates for changes to laws, policies, practices, and behaviours to ensure the promotion and protection of women’s and children’s rights.


Established 32 years ago, WfC is a recognized and respected actor on the Zambia development scene.


MISSION


WfC is a gender focused NGO that builds capacities of rural communities especially women and girls to achieve sustainable development


VISION


A society that upholds gender equity and equality


AIMS


The aim of WfC is to empower women and girls to ensure that they participate and benefit from the economic, social, cultural and political endeavours at community, district and national level.


Also to amplify their voices and agency at all levels.
